What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Colorado
I recently purchased a 2001 Audi S4 through a private sale. Drove great when I took it for a test drive, and I bought it. After I had put less than 20 miles on it the Check engine light came on and I lost all boost pressure, so I took it to a local Audi dealership. Turns out that both turbos are shot, as well as the oxygen sensors that failed after being coated in oil that spewed from the turbos after the failure. Audi quoted me 5800 in parts and 3080 in labor. The vehicle cost me 12400 dollars.
As I was leaving the dealership one of the techs told me about some law that can protect a buyer, even in a private sale with an 'as is' stipulation. Apparently it's something to do with emissions and the fact that the vehicle will now fail the test.
I searched and searched online but all I could find was the 'Lemon Aid Law' for Massachusetts which stated exactly what the Audi tech told me.
Does this law also exist in Colorado? Or was the tech misinformed? I really hope he was right because I cannot afford this right now. Thanks
