After living with my fiancee for 4 1/2 years my son, (from a previous relationship) and I moved out because he never treated my son very well. My son is blind and so even though I had been paying toward a house with my fiancee I felt that I had to leave and move out.
My name was not on the house because my fiancee said that he would only do that after we married but I had been living there expecting that the money I paid each month was going toward my house.
Since I moved out, he has just sold the house and had verbally promised to give me $5,000. Now he is not going to. Do I have any legal recourse in this situation?
I live in California. My fiancee and I were together for a total of 7 years. My son and I lived with him for 4 1/2 years.
