What is the name of your state? CA

I am a big baseball fan. I am trying to build a website that displays some rather unique stats about some baseball players (things that I have not seen on other websites). But for me to compile this information, I need to consult and get some original records and statistics from mlb.com or espn.com. All of these original data I am looking for are facts and have happened as of earlier today (examples being player names, number of games pitched or batted, home runs hit, stolen bases etc).

My question is, by going to the above websites and pulling this information, would I be violating any copyrights. All that I am getting are "facts" and I am not interested in any unique value added computation that these sites might have based on the same factual data.

Thank you in advance for your response.
