What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Hi I am from Ct., I own a condo where 2 years ago they changed the exterior from wood siding to vinyl. At the time the association said we may replace our front doors but they had to be white, tan or green. This was announced to us by our monthly newsletter and was not part of any rules or bylaws. I replaced our front door with a white door that has a glass oval. I was called before the board and I explained their are no specifications for doors in our rules. They still fined me $10 per day up to $1,500 which I payed . Now their law firm is sueing me to replace the door. They said the would drop the suit if I "replaced the door with one that conforms to the association bylaws". Their is nothing in the laws to conform to is my contention. Please let me know what my options are.
Thank You
