What is the name of your state? CA
I am a homeowner of a condo conversion in California. My question is... Is there any way to hold the contractors/builder accountable for the pick up work that needs to be completed on my unit? They had a 30 day window to complete all items noted on my walk-through before closing, and that time frame has come and gone (deadline was 2+ weeks ago). Besides calling them multiple times a day, is there any other option that may yield better/more effective results?
There are numerous problems both in and out of my unit, and it looks like the contractors are picking up and leaving soon. They are obviously lacking manpower, but what can be done about that? Our HOA had a meeting two days ago, and it seems like most of the homeowners are having the same problems. We talked about possibly getting some legal assistance in the matter? How would we do that, and what exactly can we do to penalize them for delayed work? I would appreciate any advice you can give me on this.
Sincerely,
Jany
