What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? FLORIDA

I would like to know if a condo association can deny a potential owner/buyer after a down payment has already been made based on criminal background?

My background is free adn clear but my fiance has a prior drug possesion changed (dismissed) and is on pre-trial release/house arrest for a violent charge.

I am about to submit the application for the condo to the seller with the $1000 deposit that will be applied as the down payment. I just dont want to waste time.

Agreed, but some condo docs do give the board the right of refusal. I had a situation here in FL where I sought to purchase a condo near Disney and the board had to approve the purchase. Apparently the board never approved any resales.
