What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Illinois

I recently applied for a new position within my current company. Today it was brought to my attention that the woman who did my interview is mocking some of my responses with my coworkers. Is this a legal issue? Is there not some form of confidentiality for the interviewer/interviewee?

That there is no privacy or confidentiality in the work place is not a legal issue unless the remark were racially or sexually motivated. It just means you are working for idiots.

If you want to keep your job, ignore it and it will blow over.

No and no.

It's unprofessional and childish. The woman who is doing so, if she really is doing so and this is not just a rumor, should be ashamed of herself. It's not impossible that HR might be interested and will tell her to stop.

But it is not a legal issue and no, as a matter of fact you have very little expectation of confidentiality in the workplace.

What I have never understood is how these childish and unprofessional bosses ever manage to get into a position of authority at all...sigh. Unless of course they own the place.
