What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Utah
I had a DCFS case open over 4 years ago. My 2 yr old daughter already lived with my mom, and when my son was born, he should have been placed there too, but somehow he ended up with my step-mother-in-law. I have since discovered that the supervisor who placed him there is very good friends with my step-mother-in-law outside of this case. I want to do everything I can to appeal this decision based on this info. My kids deserve to be together and my step-mother-in-law robbed them of that. I am willing to do whatever it takes no matter the cost to have this case appealed.

Why did DCFS "open a case" 4 years ago? Did you complete your case plan? Why did DCFS take your new infant?

Did your step MIL adopt the child? Why was the case opened against you?

In addition to the questions you've gotten, please be aware that simply being friends with someone is not necessarily a conflict of interest - particularly in a small town and/or if MIL has a professional involvement with the DCFS program.
