What is the name of your state? MA

Hello everyone,

Within the last year my company's payroll department moved to California. Since that time, my paycheck has been wrong more often than not. I'm an hourly employee who works third shift and about 15-20 hours overtime every week. Their excuse for the errors is that the electronic time clock has problems understanding my 3rd shift hours. I'm not sure why sometimes my pay is correct and other times it's not if that were the case.
Recently I began emailing my hours (in addition to still punching in and out), to my boss who then submits them to payroll. This has improved the errors, but not eliminated them, and again my check is missing over 12 hours overtime this week.
This is not the end of the world due to the fact that I do eventually get paid. Usually the time missing is added into my check within a week or two. However, I do have a mortgage and many bill to pay, and would like to be able to know what my check is going to look like from week to week. The company is aware of the problem yet doesn't seem to want to really correct it. If this was an occasional problem it would be less of a frustration.
The problem was brought to their attention months ago; can they continue to let this occur?

Thanks for any insight.

California law only states that overtime can be held until the next pay day without the wages becoming "unpaid" for which the DLSE would accept a claim.

Having said that, though, I'm not sure how long I would want to work for a company where the customer service ethics of the payroll dept. (after all, employees are customers of payroll) are that insensitive. The motto in my payroll dept. has always been "what if it were MY paycheck?".
