Hello,
I have a question about personal property compensation.
My apartment complex is doing a massive construction
project to update siding, sliding doors and windows. This
is a project that will last approximately 10 months.
During the duration of this project I am denied any use of
my patio, which is the primary reason I purchased this
condo in downtown Seattle.
The home owners association did notify the unit owners of
this project and did let us know about the
fact that we can't use our patio for a while, so this did not come out of
nowhere.
My question to you is, in your expert opinion, would I be
eligible for any kind of compensation during the duration of
this project since I cannot use my patio?
I know commercial businesses get compensated when
there are construction projects around their business;
however, I was not sure if the same thing applies to
personal property.
I wanted to contact other owners to discuss this and see if
they were on board with me on this; however, I wanted to
get legal advice first before approaching any of the other
owners.
Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You.
