am i responsible for my husband's credit card debts in the state of nj also a car loan?

My response:

New Jersey is a separate property State.

If your name DOES NOT appear on the contracts for the CC cards and / or the vehicle loan, then those debts belong to him. If your name appears on the contracts (not just the Credit Card itself, and not merely on the title to the vehicle), then you are also responsible for the debts.
