Contract Written In For Business Located In Orlando, FL and work set to be performed in New York, NY

I physically met John Doe, a managing member of John Doe Industries LLC, a business registered in Orlando FL on May 26th, 2015.

Prior to meeting John Doe in person, we met online over Facebook, during a time where I was stranded in the Dominican Republic due to personal issues, we had friends in common on Facebook, after I posted a status on my Facebook wall pertaining to my situation, Mr John Doe contacted me, and after a few hours he agreed to Donate / Lend me $100 which he transferred to me over western union, he also offered to pay me an airline ticket to Florida where he would help me reestablish my life but at that very moment I desisted from the idea and choose to continue my efforts in achieving social and economic stability in said foreign country.

After a few failed attempts at getting back on my feet in the Dominican Republic I contacted Mr. John Doe and asked him if the option of going to FL was still open, after a few conversations over Facebook and phone, we agreed that he would be paying my airline ticket from Dominican to Orlando FL, he would pick me up at the airport and offer me shelter on a couch in his bedroom, and within 3 days time he would help me find a room where I could live temporarily and agreed to cover the cost of said room.

The purpose of this move was to assist Mr John Doe by working for him and taking care of some things he needed to get done, from day 1 Mr. John Doe insisted that I was not working as an employee but as an Independent Contractor and that I was responsible for paying me own taxes.

Through the process of getting these side jobs completed and me being paid at an hourly rate, Mr. John Doe began to complain about the hours that it took me to get one individual task done, to the point were he would refuse to pay me the total amount of worked hours and would push and intimidate me to give him a final invoice that reflected a total amount of hours that he was happy with, even to the moment that he issued payments he would cut me down 2 and 3 hours from my pay.

After I completed my end of the job Mr John Doe wanted to offer me a more permanent job, again as an Independent Contractor facilitating marketing services to his company, John Doe Industries LLC where he acts as a Managing Member.

Mr John Doe never completed his end of the deal and left me sleeping on a couch filled with dog hair from his German Sheppard, Imagine having to share a space with 2 men and a large breed dog in a space no bigger then 500 square feet at most.

I was forced through intimidation to cook and clean for Mr John Doe as well as do his laundry, run his personal errands and even do heavy duty jobs such as unclogging septic pipes and replacing toilets.

Through out this entire time Mr John Doe was aware of my declining severe health and did nothing to accommodate me be able to see a doctor, towards the very end I finally convinced Mr John Doe that in order for me to continue working as an Independent Contractor I would have to work from an apartment in NYC where I was able to retain my Health Insurance and he accepted and we drew a 13 week contract.

48 Hours prior to departing the state of Florida Mr John Doe refused to pay me for my hours worked up that point and only gave me $400, and intimidated me into making an invoice for less hours worked or he would not pay it.

He contacted me over text message telling me he would not be paying, he was discontinuing the services and has left me near homeless, sick and penniless.

He was aware of everything and took advantage of me from day one.

If you have a written contract, you can enforce that contract. If you don't have a written contract, you will have a difficult time proving one exists. In either case, you may have a problem showing Mr. John Doe owes you anything.

You both appear to have taken advantage of the other. At this point in time, it would probably be smart for you to find some other way to earn a living.

You did not ask a legal question.
