What is the name of your state? South Carolina. My husband and I signed contract to buy home we currently reside in on 3/27/05. The husband of the sellers filed bankruptcy on 4/14 while contract was still in effect. We were not notified. We were to close this AM and the trustee called and halted the sell. He notified us that the Wife could sell her 50% but that the rest was going to have to go through him. The trustee was extremely late in the game and the real estate agent having knowledge of all of this tried to go to close with out telling the trustee. I just learned of everything yesterday. What is my next step since the contract to buy has now expired and the trustee has steped in on half the deal?
