What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? Illinois I am a landlord i rent to tenants with children ranging in ages one through thirteen years of age. Currently the children play in the large backyard area of the building. I have asked the parents not to allow their children to play out front of the building. The problem is that some of the parents feel i am being a controling and dictating landlord. My question, is this request being to unfair to the tenants and their children.

*** Yes. Unless your lease has a requirement prohibiting the parents from 'allowing' their children to play out front, you have NO right to restrict them.

**A: what is out front of the building? Is this the parking driveway area where it would be unsafe?
