I have been asked by my employer to supply information from current employees mailboxes. At this time the only other information I have is there is a pending law suit against the company by these employee's. I am concerned that I will be personally dragged into the companies legal problems. Is there any action I can or should take to protect myself, in the form of some legal document??? The Company is located in Massachusetts.

You are in a difficult place, between the duties to your firm, your desire to keep your job, avoid legal violations and not get dragged in.

The major question I would have is whether the action they are asking that you take is legal. You might consider saying you think you heard that there are cases that say this may be illegal or an invasion of privacy and while you are a loyal employee and will do what the company management asks, you would want your boss to check with his management and the firm's counsel and confirm to you in writing what they want done and that the company's lawyers say it is legal first.
