contemplated forming a sole proprietorship. decided i should form either an LLC or Corp. the thing about the LLC that makes me frown is the publication requirement which is really steep for NYC. i hear that the publication requirement itself can be at least $1,000 if not more.

is there anyway to find out what this will cost before forming an LLC?
how expensive would it be to form a corp and are there publication requirements? (i have not seen any)

looking online i couldnt really find information that tell exactly what the steps are and what is required so if anyone has those id be glad to look up the links

an LLC requires:
articles of organization $200
operating agreement
notice of formation publication +$1000
department consumer affairs license $85 this year or $425 for next 2 years
business certificate $120
biennial statement $50
EIN and Sales Tax ID# -both free from irs + NYS taxation & finance

what does a corp require?
