What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? CA

What would it typically cost a corp. to respond to a wrongful termination complaint?

(Looking for some negotiating help...)

Thanks,

Charlie

You need to provide 'way more information before we can even begin to determine what it might cost your former employer to fight your wrongful termination charges.

Most "wrongful terminations" aren't. They don't last long in a legal situation. Most employers who discuss this with legal counsel soon discover that there is no "wrongful termination." And those folks just aren't willing to settle. We'd have to know a lot more. But rest assured, wrongful terminations are like reindeer. They do exist, in certain climates and locations, but they're not something that you see very often or that many people will see in their lifetime.

thanks, all

Kinda what I expected...

Hoping for some threateningly high amount so I could say "Why bother, just gimme what I want!" (Not much, really)

thanks again,

Charlie

Many corporations have insurance for just such an instance.

You need to balance this against the cost of not responding which is probably in the same range that was given by Zigner - Anywhere from $0 to $507,832.38. BTW, don't forget to factor in the antacids you will need while worrying about this.

I think for 2017 the range was raised to $507,839.45. Be careful to stay within the appropriate range for the year in question.

I believe the amount will change again on December 19th. Estimates are now in the lower $700s.
