What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NY
I own a piece of property with my siblings. The deed states with "rights of survivorship". Can one of us leave our share of the property to our spouse or child when we die? Or is it possible to sell our own share to spouse or child before we die without the other owners approval? Thanks for any help.

What prodigy of an imbecile came up with that ill-conceived notion?

You all need to get to an attorney and have the estate converted into a straight co-tenancy - dropping the “survivorship” nonsense. Otherwise, learn to sleep with one eye open.
