What is the name of your state? Virginia

If someone from another country is looking for a "sponser" to get a work permit to work, and a green card, could they possibly be illegal?

We had a caretaker from another country (Africa) that was hired by us in good faith to care for my ill grandmother, and she turned out to be a very decietful person. :(

She is looking for a sponser, and had asked me to sponser her.At first I was going to, until I found out she was ripping my family off.She doesn't have a green card either.

She had been working for an agency that has hires caretakers out.My insticnt tells me this agency probably sponsered her while she worked for them, and she no longer works for them.I suppose that ends the sponsership.I believe she may have been fired, or was on the verge.
Any help you can give is appreciated.Thank you in advance!

What exactly is your question? There is no way for me or for anyone else other than the person you are interested in to tell you whether or not they are here lawfully or not. If you want to sponsor her, you would need to have this information anyway to determine if she is even eligible for a visa of any type. So the best thing to do is to ASK her about her immigration status in the US and to provide proof thereof. After that you can determine how you would like to proceed, if at all.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions or need further assistance with this matter.
