What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Florida

I have been doing some reading and I am trying to find out if countrywide assigned my mortgage to BNA when they sold it. BNA has since sold it to Green tree. I have looked it up on MERS which shows green tree as the servicer and Fannie Mae as the investor. I then looked up the county clerk records which does not show any of this. Does this mean that countrywide sold BNA an unsecured note?

No, it does not mean that at all. What is your purpose in doing this research?

Green Tree keeps calling and wants me to do a Harp refi. I started reading up on that which lead me to find all these things that countrywide did wrong. One thing said that countrywide didn't record the note with the sale of the loan to BNA making it an unsecured loan. So now they can't foreclose on the house. It also said that people are being pushed into refinancing so they can get you to sign a new mortgage giving them the new secured loan.

I am not in default. I am upside down as most, but I have to ask myself why would green tree want to do this. Whats in it for them. I have never been late and they are getting 6.25 in interest from me. Unless they are looking to secure the note.

You're reading too much in to it. Marketing is just making their normal rounds.
