What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? MN

I'm paying off all my credit cards in full to start out the new year. I went on a cash economy in 2006, cut all my cards, and have saved 50% of my income since, to pay off all my debts.

I haven't paid on any of the cards since 2006, and most are in collections. I ordered 3 different credit reports to determine exactly who to pay, and one of the cards, for $4400 (+ interest and penalties) does not exist. It does not show as current debt, charged off, owned by a collection agency, or even as a past creditor.

I keep poor records, don't receive anything in the mail on these anymore, and don't remember who the card provider was, as I was juggling balances from many cards at the time. I just remember the amount.

I thought perhaps the card was in collections with one of the others, but the numbers don't add up. This debt, past and present, and who issued me the card, seems to have disappeared from my credit report. Any ideas on how to pay it?

So, instead of making payments, you just ignored the debts and put the money in savings?

That really doesn't make sense...

Yes, that's exactly what I did. I didn't have the means to pay them, and didn't want to deal with it. I know things like this don't go away, but I've worked 2 jobs since then, and am ready to pay up in full.

I suppose I could have started paying some time ago, but I didn't. I wanted to pay it all at one time. My credit is damaged either way, I don't use any other credit, so it hasn't been an issue. I have no other credit beyond these credit cards.

Any suggestion on how to find the missing debt? I've looked high and low, and I have nothing in my posession pertaining to any of the cards. Since I'm about to pay the others off, I'd like to deal with all of them now if I can.

I made a suggestion, but if you didn't like that one then my second suggestion is for you to call a psychic.

You've already handled you credt in an extremely stupid manner, what difference will one more idiotic decision make?

Your suggestions were not effective, but thanks. You can't be an attorney anyway. None would ever speak so unprofessionally, even in a joking manner.

I'll just pay the others, and wait for the other to contact me. If they don't, so be it.

So let it be written; so let it be done.
