credit card problems

Over a year ago I hurt my back, I tried to keep working. I worked off and on. About 5 months ago the doctor took me off work. I have a disrupted disk which I was told I need a fusion. In the mean time I'm unable to pay on all my credit cards. My husband works but I was the main wage earner. He gives what he can, we have 2 children and 2 grandchildren that we support.
The problem is I don't know what I am suppose to do, the credit card people are calling every day. I keep telling them the same thing over and over again. I am unable to work and work comp is not paying me. I can't get disablity due to injury being work related. I have two specialist that both told me that my back is bad and am unable to work. While the company doctor said I was. In the mean time creditors are calling. The Lawyer I finally got just tells me to be patient and I will get back pay. But being patient doesn't pay the bills. I don't know what I am suppose to do, can you suggest or help.

DID YOU HAVE ANY CREDIT CARD PROTECTION/DISABILITY INSURANCE POLICIES ALREADY IN PLACE ON YOUR CARDS???? THAT WOULD PAY A SMALL AMT. AGAINST YOUR BAL EA. MONTH??? USUALLY CONSUMERS FORGET ABOUT THIS AND IT JUST SO HAPPENS THAT THE CREDIT CARD REPS FAIL TO TELL OR REMIND YOU OF THIS AS WELL......THAT SURE WOULD HELP INA SITUATION LIKE YOURS...BUT MOST CREDIT CARD COMPANIES SHOULD BE ABLE TO WORK SOMETHING OUT W/YOU ESP. IF YOUR ACCT. IS ON THE VERGE OF BEING CHARGED OFF, IF IT ISNT ALREADY.
GOOD THING YOU HAVE A LAWYER THOUGH.....MAYBE GO BACK TO THE SOCIAL SEVURITY OFFICE AND APPEAL THEIR DECISON TO NOT GIVE YOU ANY BENEFITS....HOPE THIS HELPS

Yes I checked into the credit disablity plan, they told me I had the insurance. Got the paper work all fill out and waited for a reply. When I received no reply I called only to find out that I have been canceled. And the insurance that I am paying for is for life. Some of my other cards I have disablity insurance with also. One is giving me the run around, each month I have to update my status, and then they don't even pay like they should. As far as Soc. Sec. Adminastration you have to be off for 6 months before you can apply. The disablity insurance that I was referring to was an insurance that I have with the company that I worked for. I keep hoping a miracle will happen. But then nothing never has gone right. But thank you for pointing the plans out to me.
