My father has used all of my college fund. The money was in an account that he set up in both of our names, but my SS#. I am now in nursing school and struggling to pay my bills. He refuses to pay me the money back because he is not happy with me. He has done this to my 4 siblings as well. Do I have a reason to sue him, he did afterall tell us that money was for when we were older.
And, do I have the right to assess an interest fee? What about adding money for missed work and school if we go to court and mental anguish... anything?
Also, when I called him (we haven't talked in about 3 years) and asked him to pay the money back he cancelled my insurance. I am 21 and he gets full family coverage through his employer(it does not cost him anything to keep me on the plan), is he allowed to do that out of spite?
I am in florida.
Thank you!

My response:

You have no Cause of Action, for either the money or the insurance.

These are items that, only when given, are gifts. Until they are actually given to you, you have nothing. He can take anything that hasn't already been given to you, and is not in your possession, custody or control.

You're too old to be on his insurance.

Move on with your life, and stop depending upon others.
