What is the name of your state? Mo
We have a gravel county road that has a dangerous blind curve that people will speed around and take the whole road. They have no regard for safety. Someone is going to get killed. I asked the county comm. for help after one night I was ran off the road with grandchild in back and had to climb out before car turn into ditch. I called and talked to him and he installed a road bump but he had it removed that afternoon when someone complained. I asked why he moved it. His response, "Because someone asked it be removed." I let it go. Now my daughter was run off and almost got killed and the speeder just continue on.. Called again to county comm. and he said all he could do is just install speed signs and that we are really at the mercy of these idiots. This just doesn't sound right to me. There has to be something for the county to sit up and take action. I hope it is not the death of my children or grandchildren. What can I do? I am willing to take action to get this matter corrected but I have to know what are the legal remedies? Thanks..

Your situation is going to require some creative advocacy. Have you talked to the police, or whomever would issue a traffic citation for speeding on this road? Is the County Commissioner just one person or are there several people who are the County Commission? Are they elected officials? Have you approached anyone else about joining you with a petition to have this condition remedied? Elected officials often respond to that type of public pressure. Would a stop sign help? As you can see there are many possibilities that you apparently can pursue, so just don't give up based on conversations with one stubborn public official. Go over his head if need be.
