My ex-wife was a very bitter divrocee, which is why I went to great lengths to be fair and to uphold my end of the divorce decree. While living in MD, but prior to the divorce, I bought a house AR where she lived with our kids, which I agreed to keep paying for for 18 months and she could live in rent-free until 18 months was over, after which she would pay rent at the cost of the mortgage payment. At the end of the 18 months, she remained in the house but refused to pay rent. After I sent notices to her via certified mail, she abandoned the property and moved the kids without letting me know. That aside, I then repaired the house and listed it, and soon got a contract. The contract fell through because the ex refused to sign a waiver saying that I owed no back child support. This is not the case, as I have found out that I overpaid, but she refuses to sign. In the mean time, I cannot sell the house, the proceeds from which would help me retain legal counsel. I cannot afford to otherwise. How can I "force" her to accept my documentation of the bank transfers and sign this form? (I am intending to seek child custody following the sale, and believe she is stalling to avoid this). Please help, and soon!!!!
