 What is the name of your state? Colorado
I was married in november of 2004. I was mislead by my husband of his financial history. He has a bankrupcy and approximately 40,000.00 in dept. I came in to the marraige with flawless credit score and "owned"(owed the bank) 52,000.00 on the mortgage which I was going to pay off with an inheretance I received. My husband talked me into signed for a 300,000.00 house as well as 2 vans which he is using for a business and in addirion to that I gave him 30,000.00 of my inheretance to start a business. I would like to give my husband the benefit of the doubt and beleive that he will make payments on all of these things(I have since lost my job in june 2005) He says he wants to acheive a succesful business to pay back all of the debt and take care of me so I don't have to work. I'm not wanting to file for divorce and declare bankrupcy or be vindictive but I just need to know if there is some way that I can have papers drawn up or something I can do to assure he follows through with his financial obligations which are in my name. I have no way of paying this much debt back. I have a learning disability which limits me from getting high paying jobs and I just want to protect myself in the event he does not follow through with all of his promises. PLEASE HELP.
