I have a judgment against me from a contracter. I called the Law office that's handling his case. I offered to pay the contracter for his service call plus interest & he can have his part. Office claimed they need the full amount, they can't take partial amounts, they are not a collection Agency, but a Law Firm. If I want to reduce the amount of the judment, I would have to go to court. I don't want to pay for a defective part , that the contracter sold me. Any advice on how to handle this problem, would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Thank you for your fast reply. The part had a warranty of 2 years. This is a long story , & I wouldn't have room to tell it all. Also I would hesitate to post the full story on the internet. I not only was harassed by the contracter, I was also given the run around by the people in the legal system. The judgment was filed & sent to me , before the 30 day period. When I tried to appeal, the people in the justice system were uncooperative. My time limit ran out for me to appeal, & the appeal was dismissed. This all took place in the year 2000 & 2001. I didn't have much knowledge of the law at the time, plus I had a death in the family along with several family illnesses. I don't know what I can do at this late day. Any advice would be appreciated.

Well I have to beg off on this one. It's beyond me and would rather not mislead you. Hopefully some of the legal eagles will see this and lead you to a solution.

I don't think I would hold my breath though. 2000-2001 was a long time ago.
