I always thought that annulment was related to religion, basically,
a way for one's church to condone the breakup of a marriage without actually doing so. What is the difference between annulment and divorce? What is the annulment procedure? Can anyone get a marriage annulled? My daughter tells me that many
Hollywood stars do this all the time... I can't believe I am so unaware of this issue. I am very curious and would really like it
if someone could explain the steps involved in annulment, etc..

divorce = the marriage is over
annulment = the marriage never happened

There are legal annulments and religous ones. Laws vary by state, but they wil be determined by the length of the marriage, whether the spouse was currently married to someone else, or if there was fraud involved.
