I took my "dry clean only" jacket to the dry cleaners, for the first time. They called me and told me that after they dry cleaned it, the jacket was destroyed and I needed to contact the store that I purchased it from to get a refund. I purchased the jacket over a year ago and don't have the receipt. Are the dry cleaners responsible for replacing the jacket, or who should I contact to resolve this issue? I'm getting cold in Ca.

IF you can show that the dry cleaner was negligent (in his not following cleaning directions, wrong chemicals, etc.) then you might have a case against them. However, without some proof that they were at fault, your chance of recovery (if you decide to litigate) is unlikely (in my opinion).
