What is the name of your state? TX

I have had many problems within the last year. Last May, I had a large hole in the bathroom ceiling that was dripping water from the pipes above, a month later, the air conditioner was also leaking water and it resulted in a permenent wet spot on the carpet and also, there was an unsealed windows and everytime it rained, my floors (in the bedroom, bathroom and kitchen) would be flooded with water. I called several times but no one came to fix these problems.

On 7/23/04, a large leak in the ceiling of the bedroom caused said bedroom to be flooded. I called them (there is only a pager number for maintanence but no one answers it) but had to wait till the next day for their offices to open. They did nothing! Even though the leak was near a light and there was a fire hazard. After 4 more days of calling these people (and writing letters!) and having them keep telling me taht help is on the way, I called the housing authgorities on these people and the agent made a call to them and after 4 days, theyt finally looked at it. It would take them another month (and many more letters!) to fix the other problems exept for the windows which I fixed by ductaping the edges of the windows. The idiot manager at the office is a complete bitch. I also have toubles with my neighbors making too much noise.

A few days ago, the same leak has busted open again! It turns out that they never really fixed the leaking pipe but just but a cheap sheeth around it. Now the leak is worse than last time. I can't use my bedroom and there might be a fire hazard.

I would like to sue these people and get backrent and damages to property etc. Does anyone know what is the statute of limitations for this in TX? I don't think I should have to pay rent for this month either because of the problem. How much back rent should I sue for? Do anyone have advise on how to prepare my case?

Fire department came and didn't want to shut off water because they would have to shut it off for the whole complex so I a will have to sleep on the couch for today and use a bucket.

Thanks.
