What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state?New York

Where it comes to Family Court (FC) , what is the difference between a trial and a hearing?

What is the difference between a FC magistrate and a FC judge?

Thanks!

Family Court handles both Child Support ( hearings ) and Custody / Visitation trials.

Often times in a Custody/Visitation trial there will be will a number of hearings.

A magistrate or Hearing officers hears Child Support cases , whereas a Judge would hear a Custody/Visitation trial/hearings .

Although If you filed a writen objection within 30 days of a Child Support order , a Judge would consider the Objection .
