What is the name of your state?

Can an employer in Minnesota make it mandatory for employees to have their checks direct deposited?

If you are a state employee you definitely can. Recent legislation made it mandatory for all state employees to be paid via direct deposit.

If you are not a state employee please post back as I will need to do further research in that case.

We are a private non-profit corporation in Minnesota. Not State employees.
We have several employees that do not have checking accounts/savings accounts and do not have plans to open accounts. Thanks for your help.
