What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Missouri
I was hired today with a company, they fired me because of what their "back round" company pulled up on me, BUT their back ground company called Kroll directly VIOLATED the Fair Credit Reporting Act by reporting an arrest record (the arrest in question was dropped, ALL CHARGES WERE DROPPED) but this company Kroll based out of New York, NY did not pull a criminal back round to find this information out, now not only am I unemployed my name has been slandered, this is deflamation of charactor and it is in direct violation of the Fair Credit Reporting act with the Federal Trades Commission. What can I do, what kind of attorney can help me, will I need to have cash up front for the attorney or is there someone who can take this case on pending winning in court?

First of all the word you are looking for is "background". Secondly why do you think it is illegal not to hire somebody because they have been arrested? Last time I checked, people who have been arrested are not a protected class. It may be unfair but that doesn't make it illegal.

edit: Was this arrest more than 7 years ago?
