fired for a disability

What is the name of your state?Missouri. My nephew went to work for a retreading company in our home town a few weeks ago. Today he went to work and they fired him because he has a bad eye. He was born with a cataract that is not repairable. Can they fire him for this disability?

Is there a certain vision requirement for his position? Does this impairment affect his ability to do his job?
