Discharge vs Termination

After a discharge is granted there seems to be a waiting period before the case is "terminated". Why the waiting period and what happens during it?

I can't give you a definitive answer, but with all the bankruptcy cases that a Trustee has to handle and the number going up daily in the next 5-1/2 months, I'd be willing to bet it has as much to do with case load than anything else. Trustees don't have huge staffs of people and unlimited budgets but they are likely buried in mounds of paperwork.
