Disownment/Being Sued by Parents

We are from Florida.
My husband has been having trouble with his parents for about 10 years and he has come to the decision that he no longer wants to have contact with them.
His mother called the other day and informed him that she was in the process of disowning him. Also she said she was going to sue him for $70K. She did not give a reason for this, however, we assume it's from his college education more then 12 years ago.
Can a parent sue for paying their childs way through school after the fact. I have looked all over for disownment information but can find none. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

No they can not sue him for paying for his education 12 years ago. Now, if they had a formal contract with him and the money was a loan.. and they had kept the contract 'alive' then maybe.
