What is the name of your state? New York

My wife almost fainted at work (major apparel production firm). She asked her manager to leave home (7pm - after working since 9am).

He refused, kept assigning her work tasks and suggested that she often complains on the her health (not true)

The manager made similar comments previously to another subordinate.

What are the ways to address this?

Not sure if it qualifies as harassment..

Thanks

If he made similar comments to another subordinate, he's not confining his nastiness to your wife.

Has your wife been checked out since then?

What are her normal hours?

Don't forget your wife always has the last word... She doesn't have to work there.

As an employer though, it would be intolerable if employees went home every time they had some minor problem because we count on them. Some employees may need a little bit of pressure to get them to "tough it out".
