Divorce Final 23 days ago. I have not received a copy. Haven't signed my divorce decree. Lawyer hasn't deposited the $15 check she requested 23 days ago to file doc to get child support taken from ex's paycheck. Attorney will not take my calls. I need info. Will my final divorce decree require my signature? How long should it take till I receive it? If attorney doesn't do her thing to get auto child support deductions like she said she would, does this prevent the attorney general from filing the papers to get the auto withdrawl? What do I do about a $1000 pre-paid attorney who will not communicate with me? My attorney, ex & his attorney will not inform me as to how and when I will receive the insurance that is ordered for children. Help!

I can answer in terms of Indiana law:

The JUDGE signs the decree, whereas you would sign the settlement agreement and waiver of final hearing.

You can always call the court and ask about the status of your case, to see if something has been filed or approved or whatever. If you don't know which court to call, call the clerk's office and give them them "cause number," which is the funky, long mixture of numbers and letters at the top right portion of the front of the documents.

Your ex will still owe the support money for those weeks, even if the income withholding is delayed for a few weeks.

It DOES take several weeks for that to be put in place.

If it hasn't started by about six weeks from the date your divorce was approved by the court, I'd start worrying then.
