What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? mi
5 years ago signed a quit claim deed so ex could refinance mortgage w/o my name
this was done, however, refinancing is now an issue and they found a typo in the legal description and want me to resign again. the title company that did this is no longer in business and the state is not able to locate whether another company took over their files.
i am receiving threats that if i do not get this corrected i will be fined and taken to court for fees, and closing costs
is there another way around this? can i be forced to sign? will i have to pay?

Q: is there another way around this?

A: No.

Q: can i be forced to sign?

A: Yes.

Q: will i have to pay?

A: Yes.

The judgment in the lawsuit ordered you to sign a quit claim deed; you signed an incorrect one (not your fault) so the order still stands.
