I am married & we have a son 10 months old. He was conceived before the marriage. There was very high pressure from the father to get pregnant immediately. Now, our son is here and wonderful and I am so thankful to have him, my husband on the other hand has done a 180.... He has become impossible, will not provide for either of us, is very verbally abusive, etc... We are not living together & have filed for divorce, he has held that whole process up by postponing temporary due to ridiculous technicalities, but it has worked & he still has to pay nothing. Now this is the question, I have found in a place he does not know I have access to a letter from a "Genetic Discovery" company. He has ordered an in home collection lab result paternity test. I am in no way concerned about the paternity results. My husband is the father, if not then God has sent his second son to earth. I want to know what my rights are as a parent of a child who is having a DNA test preformed. I want to know if it is "legal" to not inform me of this, and if the answer is that it is "not illegal" then I want to know what my rights are since I have stumbled into the information & knowledge that there are tests being preformed on my son. Do I have the right to demand what tests are being preformed & results? I understand that this would not be an issue if I didn't know, but I do, I just want to be aware of all aspects of my son. As for my husband I feel betrayed but that is not the issue. Thank you for any response.
