Our condominium association board and management company have declared they have the right to break into our units. Can this be true in these United States?

A few of the unit owners have contacted the condominium association insurance company only to be attacked verbally by the board president with statements such as "how dare you call our insurance company". We now have some serious questions concerning our premiums, claims and payouts from the insurance. We suspect that claims are made and collected by the association board, who then turn around and assess the unit owners for the same claim. Is this legal? We are afraid to speak with the insurance company for fear of retaliation. Are unit owners entitled to confidentiality, privacy or protection when conversing with an association vendor?

Whoa chief - slow down there.
WHY did the board say they have the right to break in to units? I am assuming that our OP left out an important point (that being the board's REASON'S for breaking in).
If you are on the second floor, and the neighbor below has a huge water leak from YOUR unit, they do have the right to enter if they can't reach you. Heck, I would imagine you WANT them to enter so that you avoid any more expenses. There are other reasons, of course, but you get the idea ;)

**A: the answer is yes under certain circumstances ie. a kid left alone, a fire, a leaking plumbing problem**************......Read your condo docs/state law, it's in there.
