What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? CA

Almost two decades ago I was arrested and convicted of a misdemeanor. I never finished the required community service and I moved out of state. I have lived in fear of being pulled over for something else and arrested. I have tried searching the internet in order to find out if I have a warrant issued by Santa Clara county but I am constantly led to pay sites. The Santa Clara County Sheriff's website shows the "most wanted" but does not seem to have any way to search for active warrants. I have been pulled over a few times in my life and it has never been an issue but I am tired of living like this and want to take steps to clean-up whatever mess is left over. Is there a way I can find out for free what is hanging over me or do I need to call a lawyer in CA?

Thank you for your time.

Or you can call the Santa Clara County Court (Criminal clerk) and they will give you information about the status of your case.

BTW, just because you got pulled over does not mean that they ran your name for wants/warrants every time.

Edited To Add: try this: http://www.sccsuperiorcourt.org/criminal/case_search.asp
