The "service" was a reserved spot at the event, a spot that could have been sold to somebody else. There are very few instances where you can legally stop payment on a check and this is not one of them.

Nothing was obtained. The OP does not even allege a contract. There was no agreement. There is no crime. Even if the prima facia "case" were made per the statute (I believe it does not.), the woman would testify she did not intend to fraudulently obtain anything. The OP's own version of events would agree.
