What is the name of your state?
Florida
Never been in an accident - so would appreciate some advice.
I was rear -ended hard by 87 year old driver (charged with careless driving) whose carrier - Liberty Mutual - accepted responsibiliy
Lot of rear end damage and both front doors would not even open/close properly. Immediately took my S80 Volvo to dealer and expressed concerns about possible frame damage as I had been talking to them about trading it in. They sent me to the only certified Volvo body repair shop in area who had the right "grid" (frame alignemnt tool?) that would assure evertyhing was fine on the car when the repair was finished.
Liberty Mutual refuses to pay the price the body shop is asking to put the car on the grid for final alignment. Apparently, the body shop is certified by Volvo, and has the main grid, but they have to rent the particular jig for each model Volvo from Volvo (or whomever) because they cannot have every single jig on hand for every single Volvo.
Liberty Mutual admits they are the only certified Volvo repair shop, but then claims that they should own the jig, and they will not pay the rental charges or costs the body reapir shop is demanding to finish the job.
I keep telling Liberty that I have made no additional claims what-so-ever, (even though I probably should have at least visited a doctor), and simply want my car back as it was prior to the accident caused by their client.
Do I need a lawyer - and would they handle something like this and their fees be paid for by Liberty Mutual?
Thanks -
