What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?
Texas

I bought a car in the marine corps. and my step father co-signed for me. I got in some trouble with the marines and my step father sold the car to his ex-wife because I couldnt make the payments. They did a bill of sale and all so it would be legal. She payed on it for about a year and when the engine went out she told him he had to fix it or she wasnt gonna pay for it. So he proceeded to tell me I had to pay the rest off. Now I want to know do I have to pay it or is it not my responability?

Maybe. If he sold it to her without getting the full price from her (ie she was making the payments but the loan was never retired) then you would still be on the hook for the payments with the financing company...and so would he.

However, otherwise I don't see why you would have any responsibility.
