 My grandson is a security guard for a firm here in Steubenville. The firm "guards" area hospitals and universities. Since he started the job in November, he has come home numerous times injured due to assults by pschyatric patients, injuries caused by chasing "perps" from cars on the parking lots, and other reasons.
 While the employees are issued nightsticks and pepper spray, they are not permitted to use them, even to defend themselves against these attacks , in fact, my grandson received "disiplinary action " due to use " use of force " when he and his partner were attacked by a psch patient who broke a night stick and attempted to stab his partner with the broken end.
  This morning was the last straw as he came home on crutches after spraining an ankle while attampting to stop a "perp" from breaking into a car on the university campus. He will not be able to work for several days, as the sprain is too severe for him to walk on, and I don't see how he can be expected to assist nurses with mental patients, or chase people off the parking lots on crutches.
When questioned about this his " superior officer " remarked " Oh well , you pays your money and takes your chances " . . .

My Question is:
Is he entitled to compensation either from the company, or from Workmens Comp ??
Are there any legal means to require the "Security" company to pay him for the time he will lose on the job ??
