What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? GA
My stepfather recently passed. The only property he had was a home jointly owned with my mom. He had no accounts whatsoever. He only had a small life insurance policy which I believe does not have to be probated. I have a friend who keeps telling me the estate needs to be probated. He says that all deaths have to be probated to make sure there is nothing to be found. My thoughts are there is nothing to probate.
