Do Your Own Divorce

Hi,

I have been looking into the divorce kits online, and it appears that there are quite a few to choose from.

I was wondering if anyone could give me advice on what kit they recommend...one that includes everything. We do have a child, so there will be custody/visitation/child support issues as well.

I would like to order the best kit available and we both live in the state of Iowa......Any advice?

If custody is a question then I would simply suggest let a lawyer handle it. It could get nasty and you definately don't want to look foolish in front of a judge. Secondly if custody isn't a question the easiest way to go is to go to your local library. They should have the forms to file yourself and you simply fill them out and file. As far as support goes it's regulated by the state. My lawyer figured mine out however the judge redid it so it doesn't matter if you figure it or not. Make sure that who ever pays insurance that is known also.

I know it is sad, but I think it's time. It's been almost 2 yrs now that we have been living separate, and it's to the point where it's time to move on.

I have been away from the boards quite a bit but I do think of you all often. Occassionally I hop on to check in. It's been a busy time and I hope that it slows down a bit soon.
