What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California
Does a valid green card holder requires to get a re-entry permit if this business man has a job at a foreign country even if he comes back to USA every 6 months or so since his other family members resides in USA? If so, what does he needs to do? *He also has his wife with a minor child in Private school in that country. What will they need to do so that they don't loose their lawful permanent residence status. Do they need to get a ReEntry Permit or a Returning Resident (SB-1) visa even though they return back to USA to their other children within every 6 months for about 2 weeks during the child's (in private school) school holidays? *If they all applied for ReEntry permit, is there a consequences or complication in keeping their LPR status?*

If he doesn't plan to be gone for more than a year, he doesn't need a reentry permit.

He does however need to be very careful as it appears he's not intending to have US residence. The green card isn't some sort of perk to make it easier to enter the US for those not intending to immigrate, it can be cancelled if they determine you don't intend to reside here.

For instance, you better file RESIDENT tax returns even if his income is from foreign sources...this is one sure way to LOSE the green card if you don't.
