What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Virginia

I have sole custody of my daughter (I have looked through my order and it doesn specify whether it is sole legal or physical or both) my order has the box checked that states,
Custody of minor child is vested in the: (it is written in) Mother.

Below this is a box that says joint legal and physical custody of minor child is given to both mother and father with visitation to :( fill in the blank)

Below that is a box that simply has written in Father of minor child has specific visitaion only as follows in proposed attachment.

When in court the one thing we (the judge, me, and the x husband) did agree on was that I had sole custody with him having a gradual visitation schedule that ended with having visistation EOW.

My question is: do I have to notify him of Dr. bycertified mail? I have let him know about appt in the past weeks in advance and he hasn't showed, which is fine. But I make these appt when we re both avaiable so we can both be there and he doesn't show. She has an appt to get shots next Monday and I hate calling the house because his GF normally answers and he doesn't get the message but I hate having to call him at work either, Would snail mail be ok ??

Any form of communication would be fine. Email, telephone, snail mail, text messaging etc. It certainly doesn't have to be certified mail.

I knew this would bite my rear!!

I took my two kids to their doctor's appts. this past Monday. When I schedule these appts two months ago I called and told there dad when they were going to be and the times. I also mailed him a reminder so that he had in writing as to when these appts were. The appts were for the 6 month dental cleaning for both kids as well as for my daughter to get a vaccine and my son to get his physical- nothing major)

When I called the XH to let him know what happened, I explained what the dentist said about our 4yr old daughter. I didn't think it was anything major, but the dentist said that should her oermanent teeth grow in the same as her baby teeth have and her pallet does not expand she is going to need braces. (I took this as ok so 50/50 she is gonna need braces, they said the same for our son and his perm teeth are coming in great-knowck on wood)

I tell my XH this and I think the top of his head came off on the other end of the phone. He wants a 2nd opinion, I need to make sure he can make any and all appts. I need to make sure she takes better care of her teeth. I am thinking he is a little streesed financially and the thought of braces sent him over the top. I reminded him that they had said the same for our son and look where he is now and that brushing her teeth had nothing to do with whether or not her pallet expands (quite frankly i don't know if thats true, but seriously she is four years old!!)

Now I always make sure I follow our CO to the "T" NO where in it does it say anything about informing him of Dr. appts or emergencies for that matter, however as there father I think he has a right to know exacttly what is going on with our children and if he chooses to act on that information I think it's great.

All to ask since our CO says nothing about informing him of this I am OK by telling him, then mailing him the handwritten info, and a reminder the week before when drops kiddos off from visitation, and then letting him know the outcome should he not show up?

I don't know if this is important. We have two different CO's for our children. My ten yr old is not mine biologically. We had a step parent adoption when he was 4. Having said that his Biological mother is stil in the picture. I keep her informed of everything as well because she is quite invovled. Anyway the same still applies neither order says anything about informing my XH but I wouldl ike to make sure I dot my I's and cross my T's

Just keep dad informed like you have been doing. Braces won't be for probably at least 6-8 more years from now. Why worry about something that far out now.
